How 'safe' is online shopping?
The Internet is by far the safest way to make credit-card purchases.
Today's online security software is so highly developed, the chance of someone stealing your info is next to impossible. In fact, you're more likely to experience credit card fraud when you buy from a brick-and-mortar store or a restaurant.
How do you protect my credit card information?
We use only the most up-to-date Internet protection software - digital certification and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) - to secure every transaction.
If your browser supports SSL (and most do), all the personal information that you send us (including credit card numbers, names, addresses, and telephone numbers) will be instantly encrypted (scrambled). This scrambling makes it impossible for anyone to read as it travels over the Internet.
How can I tell if my browser is secure?
When you visit a secure section of our site - any section where you're asked to provide your credit card or personal info - two things will happen:
1. A fastened lock or solid key will appear in the bottom-right corner of your browser window. (If you click this icon, our security certificate information will appear in a pop-up window. This certificate guarantees that your personal information is being encrypted and sent to only our Web server, and not to another unauthorized server somewhere else.)
2. The beginning of our URL will change from http:// to https://. The additional "s" in https:// indicates that your connection is secure.
Your credit card will be authorized when we receive your encrypted information, and charged when we ship your order.
As always, you must have a valid credit card, be at least 18 years of age or older, and have a good credit standing for us to fulfill your order.
If, for any reason, your credit card is not approved, we will contact you by phone to verify your personal information. You then have the option of choosing a different credit card for that order.
